Sorry, LC has talked, written, sung and strung, for 40+ years about his life and experience. Perfectly. This is about what he sees as the future. If he was that smart about the future he would have seen that the bizz manager that he later married would rip him off for every penny he had while he was in a Budhist retreat. Believing that Coconut Colgate Con-Baraka Hussien Obama, who has hoodwinked the US and the world, when in a year you'll see nothing has changed, is his mistake. And I love LC.

Jack you do know this song is from 1992? The fact that it fits the current situation so well as to be receiving a huge cheer on every date of Cohen's current European tour is a happy co-incidence, or if you prefer a validation of the man's vision. I think there's quite a bit more irony here than you give credit for too - the line "on a visionary flood of alcohol" is fairly significant, I'd say. (Incidentally I know what you mean about Obama, but I'm sure LC does too).

Didn't know it was from '92......and any irony doesn't shine thru clearly enough. And I'm a Brit.....irony is the source of most of our humour.......Yanks don't get it at all............and I've seen far too many people that I know are very smart actually get sucked into believing the Obama bullshit. This isn't really the place for one of my political cynical rants......I'll just leave it at that I don't think this is one of LC's best.

Oh my, do you think calling me names means something about which viewpoint is right or wrong--instead of reading a history book you might want to look at what has happened within the last 8 years before you try to sell anyone that argument.
