i can't justify downloading music as much as the next guy, but i can say that i find friggin cds still overpriced. 10 dollars for a cd would be fine, but even then i probably won't pay for an artists music when the convenience of putting it right on your ipod from your computer is free. I will say i will support a new artist, because they are the ones who get hit hard from this industry that is in a downward spiral.

It's obvious that he's only half-joking but... (1) If he's joking, but deep-down he thinks downloading music is OK, then he's cool (2) If this is his way of (like a commentator below me suggested) discouraging downloading through reverse-psychology, it's kind of lame and uncool. (3) If he truly doesn't care or is confused about the issue, and he's just making a joke, then hey, it's sort of funny but not anything to flip out about. At least he's getting some fun out of his fame!

Reverse psychology at its finest. Except, when you steal from a store you affect the small franchise store owner as well as the inflated prices caused by it. A song, on the other hand, is simply taking the 2 cents the artist will make, and the rest the promoters / music store will make. GG kid rock?
