ELECTRIC CAR tzero blows off a Ferrari BIG TIME over & over.
Uploaded by: tsport100
Video Description:
ELECTRIC CAR. Only about 15% of the energy from the fuel you put in your tank gets used to move your car down the road or run useful accessories, such as air conditioning. The rest of the energy is lost to engine and driveline inefficiencies and idling. Therefore, the potential to improve fuel efficiency with advanced technologies is enormous. With an Electric Car it costs just $1.00 per 100kms with MUCH more performance than with petrol at $25.00 per 100kms.

As always there is ... ( 6 months ago by tsport100)
As always there is a never ending line of people desperate to quote their high school science teacher to say "conservation of energy says, energy efficiency can never exceed 100%" that law is a linear equation and does not account for regeneration or the return of kinetic energy from a vehicles inertia back into a reusable form of energy. An EV with regen can travel DOUBLE the distance of an EV without regen yet the Ev without is 90% energy efficient. So you CAN have over 100% efficiency.

no, you don't get ... ( 5 months ago by AffluentLiberal)
no, you don't get over 100%, you just get closer to 100% if you're considering all factors involved. Over 100% would mean you would never have to recharge your batteries, in fact you would have to find some way to burn off excess energy to avoid cooking your batteries, and that would be perpetual motion, which is impossible. And when I say "something else" that's exactly what i mean- you didn't take something into account, figure out what it is and account for it, and your credibility goes up.
I don't know how ... ( 5 months ago by tsport100)
I don't know how bad your basic arithmetic is but 150% is NOT perpetual motion. I've explained it as clearly as possible but if you don't understand the concept of inertia I can't help you. At no stage did I ever claim an EV can drive indefinatly on a single charge, get a grip! All I've ever said was Regeneration can extend an EVs range by up to 50%.... Just grow up!

It never ceases to amaze me how successful the big oil companies are at spreading there propaganda and miss information. They know that if the general public fully understood how much simpler and cheaper it is to deliver elec. for transportation instead of fuel, we would all switch over. Suddenly they would have nothing to sell us, and that for them could mean there demise.
Nah. It takes oil ... ( 4 months ago by celloprof)
Nah. It takes oil to make ev's and other random stuff inside your home and everything else. All homebuilt ev's with transmissions (with trans-fluid in them) I've ever seen have almost went twice as far as the same kind of ev without one. So that's more oil to be used. Lets just say you can ride a bike in 1st gear (up a mountain) all the time but you wont go very far, that's why you shift gears, to save energy.
What are you ... ( 4 months ago by tsport100)
What are you talking about? You change gears in a petrol car because peak torque is around 3000 rpm and the powerband of an ICE is very narrow. The EV in this video has a single gear, a top speed of 105 mph and doesn't use a multispeed gearbox at all yet is 20x as energy efficient as the Ferrari it's blowing off by truck lengths. So what you are saying is simply wrong.

watch the movie "Who killed the electric car" Car companies and oil companies are afraid of EV's. Also most people are afraid of change and aren't willing to make the switch, or are just to ignorant to even learn how much better EV's are.

That is until you put solar panels on your roof and never pay for power to run your EV ever again. I would say that you ether work in the oil business or you are the most ignorant and misinformed sucker on the planet, just the type of chump that big oil loves.
The efficiency of ... ( 4 months ago by withindarkness)
The efficiency of EVs, lack of fuel transport costs(in terms of energy), fewer stops in the fuel production chain, renewable options(solar, wind), etc. make EV's far more economical and ecological, with far less fossil fuel burned overall. You use oil to make many of the parts for EV's, true, but that's true of any vehicle. As mentioned, read the info, and do some independent research.
Id love it if they ... ( 3 months ago by moonlitegram)
Id love it if they designed this EV to mimic the sound the Ferraris engine makes, and designed gears in it for the sheer pleasure of changing gears. Its not just about going fast, its about the experience of driving. this video tries to show evs can keep up with the motorworld; its partially correct. Its top speed limits its victories to short races & there are faster feraris we're better off with evs, but they should target the real source of polution: daily drivers, not weekend ferraris.

We don't need oil and coal in Canada to produce electricty! We have dam, wind power,Necular and possibley tidal power.Gas cars are finally going to go away just like the chuck wagons did. Imagine millions of gas guzzlers replaced by clean cars and trucks. why even L.A. and bejing might actually see the sun again. And by the way millins of people won't be dieing from the sffects of smog.I just wish I was yoinger to see the change.

those who say evs can go fast, try and make you Ferrari go 135mph electronically limited with one gear and have 0-60 time under 4 seconds. if you stick a few gears in an ev it would be just as fast
