I believe he was a truly intelligent man and understood how movements, no matter how noble their ideals, can end up going to extremes never intended by their founders. No administration, including Kennedy, actively sought to bring down the Soviet Union, only to maintain a status quo. You should also not that it was under Reagan's administration that no nation fell under Soviet control, unlike every past administration starting with Harry Truman!! |

| I think he was 42 here, JFK was 43-1/2 at his election but I agree both are very striking figures. Reagan looked amazing in his youth and was the most distinguished looking President since FDR. JFK gained a little weight, a tad rounder in the face when he was PResident. |
