Blowin' in the Wind - The Hollies (1969)

Uploaded by: sapphiretaurus
Video Description:
This is a promotional film featuring Terry Sylvester, who replaced Graham Nash when he left in 1968. It's a bit racy, but still fun to watch!

Perhaps we need more songs like this today, because the world is not any better then the days of the vietnam war,I think that artist should have more responsobility for the music they write, like Dylan and others did.

Trouble is, would all the islamic terrorists take any notice of the song? I think not. These song lyrics are fairly worthless as the enemy take no notice. Nice somg though, but I would prefer artists to come up with solutions if they are going to comment, rather than just trite soundbites

People say that artists only sing about the problems, but don't offer any solutions. Show how we can put the solutions into the lyrics of a song. I'm not saying this to be mean, and this isn't directed at you specificially. I have heard this same comment before from others, and wondered what they would propose to do.

The parts with Terry Sylvester or whoever making out seem a bit unnecessary to me (though I guess they definitely convey the "make love, not war" message), and it's not the best version of this song I've heard, but it's a very unusual arrangement of the song. I've never heard it with this tempo and with so much background - most versions seem to be simple and folksy and mostly guitar. I like this different take on it!

That isn't Terry Sylvester making out. Believe me, I notice! Thanks for your comment. I think this is one of the best versions, but not the only best version out there, and I agree: The arrangement is unique and gives a different spin on this song, which is what the Hollies were going for. Doing another folksy version would seem redundant.
