I'm right there with ya on that! Even up into the 90's MTV was still "decent". I remember seeing an Allman Brothers, and a Stevie Ray Vaughn unplugged. The only time they will mention these bands anymore is if someone dies, or they take an award away from Kanye West! Bring back Closet Classics!!

Back in the late sixties/early seventies Traffic is in my top ten of "head music" bands- along with the Beatles, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Grateful Dead, Moody Blues, Soft Machine, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, and Cream. Add a Ravi Shankar LP and have a nice trip!

Jim Gordon was fucking Psychotic he went crazy in the late 70s and killed his mother i think. But that aside, JG was a really good drummer. This Roger Hawkins is really good too!! Hes always right in that pocket wherever it may lie he seems to always find it and just get in there and sounds good.

In the late 1970s, Gordon complained of hearing voices in his head, primarily those of his mother. Unfortunately, his physicians did not diagnose his condition as schizophrenia and instead treated him for alcohol abuse. In June 1983, he murdered his mother with a hammer. It was not until his trial in 1984 that he was properly diagnosed. Due to the fact that his attorney was unable to use the insanity defense, he was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison with a possibility of parole.
