Buckshot LeFonque was an organic musical group; experimentation of genres was preferred over solidarity and cohesion. Delfayo, his trombonist brother, however, was part of this group. Wynton's viewpoints on hip-hop are antithetical to the entire meaning of this song. He even posted a public rebuttal on Quincy Jones's opinion of the shared cultural legacy of jazz and hip-hop.
