I can't fucking believe it - nearly 200,000 hits on this song??? Back in the 60s in the UK nobody gave a shit about The Seeds, except me. That's probably why we Brits turned out such rubbish punk in the 70s: we can't do this minimalist dumb/cool stuff and should stay out. Saxon thinks he's God and he's probably right...and Johnny Rotten's doing butter ads.

Don't insult Punk! Johnny Rotten and the Sex Pistols are just the tip of the iceberg. There were many great bands, British ones included. I love Punk and I love The Seeds and British Invasion alike. Punk just isn't all about elaborate instrumentation. It's about doing it for yourself. All music is great when you've listened to a lot of it.

I just looked up the Seeds on Wikipedia, because you made me curious. The group is still alive, Sky Saxon, the lead singer is still heavily involved in the music industry (he lives in Salt Lake City). Sky and The reformed Seeds are working on a new album of material along w/ Kerry Brown and Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins! Yippee! Can't wait to hear what the Seeds come up w/ in the last year of the first decade of the 21st century.

For me punk is not a label it's a music and a spirit,Johnny Thunders had that spirit and the music(L.A.M.F. is one of the best albums from 1977) he made the anarchy tour with the istols,the damned,the clash.
For me he's a "early punk",the seeds and all the freakbeat and garage bands were "proto-punk" bands.
But i agree with you, who cares!this is just rock'n'roll!
I love the fisrt wave of punk-rock (70's) and the 60's rock'n'roll bands especially freakbeat,garage bands
