man, what a shame. this guy was amazing. had he kept himself out of trouble, hed have gone down as easily one of the best nfl backs ever. yes, ever. he was that good. i think he was the best back to ever go to nebraska, which is saying a heck of a lot, and he wasted his career. if thats not an incentive to keep out of trouble, i dont know what is. what an absolute shame.

Phillips failed in the NFL because he got fat and partied his way out of the League. He used to come to practice hung over, put on a lot of bad weight, and never took it seriously. It wasn't due to a lack of talent.
