Its falsetto, those are his trademark ad lib's. Mosto f the time he uses a normal pitched voice, try listening to that, or listen to the guy in the middle, who is also lead singer.

Its the same but live its always difficult to achieve his normal perfection, especially when singing in falsetto, which requires strange breath control.:D Try the Bee Gees track 'Obsessions' for 90's falsetto. Its still very cool.:D

But accept that you are in the minority, if this guy sucks, he wouldn't be the 3rd most successful producer of all time, with the 2nd biggest most covered song catalogue as part of the 5th greatest selling act of all time according to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame..would he? okay. I listened to it. Well written, touching song but, I dont like the way he sings, that all. I dont like the high falsetto, to me he sounds like Alvin and The Chipmunks, nothing wrong with that if you like Alvin, just not my cup of tea. In comparision, my wife had me listen to Aaron Neville, he can sing but still not something I would buy and listen to in my car.

Well the Bee Gees have done plenty of different styles and they'll be a song he sings that you'll like somewhere, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart shows you how his range works but the breathy high parts don't sound like alvin the chipmunk to me, its completely different. Try the song Wind Of Change. (Studio version probably), for a ballad converted into a funk track.

I did grow up with it, didnt like it then dont like it now. I cannot believe the loyal fan base these guys have, I just dont understand what is appealing about some guy singing in such a high pitch. Part of my dislike might be I hated the 70's and the early 80's. Disco sucks and the bell bottom pants, the polyester everywhere, hated it all.

You can see by daves vocabulary that he is not too bright, so that rather negates his pathetic opinion. Maybe he is a little too old to be on here dissing very successful bands anyway. I think dave maybe better off with Spongebob.

They had some black R&B records in the late 70s, thats it, R&B started in 1975, they stopped that in 1979, they just happened to be the band that nailed the it, they were always altering their style. Some of the best harmonizers, song writers, and solo singers of the last 50 years all in 1 group, I know I'm bias, but the first time I heared their vocal blends, that vibrato, that breath, I was sold I started with 'I Started A Joke', try and seperate styles you like from what you don't like.
