a few phonecalls and a basic emergency evac plan would have save thousands. their no strangers to tsunamis out there, that whole area is know as the ring of fire. how much would a powerfull air raid siren every couple of k's of coastline cost, their not that poor. the goverments of those countrys should have been jailed for sheer incompitence. what a pointless waste of life that could have been avoided. teach their kids about this in school so they know saftey procedure from day one!

well it is easy to say or comment on the neglegence of government but there is an old saying about tsunami in srilanka that no body believes in it unless it flows over them .first of all events like this especialy on this scale are rare and no body is perfectly prepared for the future natural disaster its the human nature what we dont know is some thing we are not interested in.and just tell me i live in england (i am not english)which is surrounded by sea from all sides

and how many people in britain can actualy perfectly swim or know about sea disasters i respect your sugestion of the public awareness of safety procedures in case of natural disasters but you cant run of them i was in pakistan with my family during south asian earthquake in 2005 and i have seen the buildings falling like match stick what procedures will you recommend for that its the matter of seconds so short in time that you cant get to the doors of your bedroom

On every youtube page, there is always one know-it-all who thinks he has the answer to everything. Why dont we just make you the leader of the world since you have all the answers, and when the first natural disaster comes that you dont have a plan for, we can execute you for incompetence.

im up for that job lolz. btw, not everything, just evacuation, it's not hard, you just need a good plan and a good work force to inforce it. they have thousands to cater for the tourist industry but won't put their hand in their pocket for their own people. i suppose people don't like spending unless there a return. saving lives doesn't pay out! infact it costs.

I wish the guy with the helmet and scooter would've realized the true danger and climbed on a roof. He looked like he was trying to save the scooter, not realizing the flooding would get much worse. I feel for the tsunami victims, that was horrific!
