How powerful do you ... ( 2 weeks ago by Darthstormtrooper60)
How powerful do you think Star Trek shields are? I've watched enough episodes of all the ST shows and I just have to say, wow that background moves a lot to simulate the shields going out every episode. That's what adds the suspense. X,Y,and A-Wings could do a number on the ships. The whole armada against one ship would be like a hand vs. a bug.

in terms of size, we could just run you over besides there is no room to debate because the two universes cannot be thrown against one another as there is too much unknown

1. What about the SSD fleet with many ISDs that defended the second Death Star? Fact - Star Wars people can't aim worth a damn 2. A genies? That's all you can come up with? Besides, no Fed captain even likes him. No but Star Trek people work with their enemies to overcome a problem. Besides, the Jedi work in defense, not in offense. 4. Time, they have never controlled, just barely traveled through. Space, how do they control that? You can alter time, and I have nothing to say about space.

cool vid but come one fighters against 3 top of the line starfleet starships. Now if it were 3 ISDs then it would be different.
First off, this is ... ( 2 weeks ago by Darmort666)
First off, this is a pretty entertaining video and it's editted nicely. Thanks for the watch! Secondly, Star Trek vs Star Wars is always going to be tricky. In terms of size, Star Wars wins hands down but we all know bigger isn't better. In terms of power I'd say Star Trek would have the upper hand in ship-to-ship size, such as the Enterprise E vs a Nebulon B Frigate, but then you've got to account for numbers. At the Battle of Endor there were 50 ISDs, a SSD and the Death Star II...
That isn't to count ... ( 2 weeks ago by Darmort666)
That isn't to count anything smaller that adds fire support. That, and if we take what the Imperial Gunners are supposed to be then yes, the ISDs will absolutely annilihate anything that StarFleet can come up with. While the video is unrealistic, for entertainment purposes who cares? StarFleet vessels will pwn Star Wars Fighters, that's a given, but when you think about things on a different scale, such as Clone Wars or Battle of Endor scale, then the stakes are raised. A lot.
I like your parody ... ( 2 weeks ago by italobambino43)
I like your parody and merging of the two story lines, however, I am a little tired of Star wars junkies always firing phasers at Star Trek, plain and simple, there wouldn't be any Star Wars if it weren't for Gene Rodenberry's bold endevours, this was his wagon train to the stars, Star Trek should be highly praised and respected. Many of the things we use today were played out first on Star Trek- The Next Generation, the word "Cyber" for instance, so, let Star Wars and Star trek be themselves !
At the speed those ... ( 1 week ago by alin1975)
At the speed those ships move at (lol Falcon does 0.5 past light speed... and that is supposed to be fast) and the pathetic weapons ranges, they would die without ever seeing their enemies. The only down side of a Star Wars attack is that they would be assimilated by the Borg long before reaching Federation space. Then you would have force wielding drones with Borg technology... now that would be something to be reckoned with.

The falcon travels ... ( 3 days ago by animecha)
The falcon travels at millions of times the speed of light faster than warp, or do you think they spent 100 years getting from one planet to another when the empire controls the entire galaxy. The empire/republic could easily wipe out the borg, no sweat.
A little too much ... ( 3 days ago by animecha)
A little too much star trek wanking here, first, when Star Wars came out the entire science fiction genre was dying and they were taking a serious risk losing money with Star Wars. But the Star Wars format was fresh and treated it like a space opera that reinvigorated the genre and helped to keep scifi alive in a time when it had little popularity. So Star Trek owes as much if not more to Star Wars. Also, Doctor Who used the term "Cyber" first, Star Trek didn't invent anything.
Lol yes they fixed ... ( 3 days ago by alin1975)
Lol yes they fixed their little blunder there. Well fair enough, I suppose they needed to try to add some science to their fiction. In any case the issue of range is very valid. Star Trek vessels have ranges many times greater than those in the Wars universe. For this reason (and a number of others), the Empire or Republic would have a very hard time against the Federation. Against the Borg there is absolutely no chance at all. There their only advantage (sheer numbers) is neutralised.
How are star trek ... ( 3 days ago by animecha)
How are star trek ranges greater when the entire plot of voyager is that it would take them 70 years to travel half the galaxy and in star wars they consistently travel from core worlds to the out rim in less than a few days? The Rishi Maze from Episode 2 is even a separate dwarf galaxy.
On your second ... ( 3 days ago by alin1975)
On your second point, I tend to agree somewhat. All sci-fi influences and builds on the other. I think its one hell of a stretch to say Trek might owe more to Star Wars, but I do give them credit. They all borrow from past movies and books. Lucas took more than his share, and that is fair enough. In the end the two are so different its a bit odd to compare, and I do love them both. Star Wars was always more like fantasy in space to me at least.
No... I meant ... ( 3 days ago by alin1975)
No... I meant weapons ranges.
Ah, lol, there's an ... ( 3 days ago by animecha)
Ah, lol, there's an argument for that too. Maximum range for phasers are supposed to be 300,000 km as I understand. However, if that's the case then why are 90% of battles at ranges no greater than 100m? The answer is that Star Trek has terrible accuracy. In DS9 ships get as close as a few feet away and they still manage to miss, I even remember an episode where Picard ordered to fire on the Borg tractor beam from only 20 meters away and it took them 4 tries.
Its simply not true ... ( 3 days ago by alin1975)
Its simply not true that battles take place that close. Often they are shown close on the screen but they say the range is maybe 10000km. Canon is clear here about effective range and I could dig up dozens of episodes. If you look carefully, they almost always hit, but because of shields there isn't always damage. Seriously here there is no comparison. In Wars they miss all the time... sometimes their "systems" look like WWII turrets. Effective range is much longer in Trek.
