I saw it on HBO late one night after I got back to the world from overseas military assignment. Couldnt get used to being in this hemisphere. I thought I was all jaded but this movie made me all emotional and sh*t. I wanted to jump up and yell at the TV "TAKE that UNCLE FUCKING BULLY!!"

I've just read a few comments posted here about this New Zealand movie 'Once Were Warriors' (1994, directed by Lee Tamahori) and I thought I'd clear up some confusion. The actor playing Uncle Bully some of you people are talking about is Cliff Curtis, and yes, he did play the role of the Latino gangster Smiley in 'Training Day'. New Zealander Curtis has appeared in a great deal of movies including 'Wale Rider', 'Three Kings, 'The Insider', 'Sunshine', 'Live Free or Die Hard' and '10,000 B.C.'.
