A car that runs 200 miles on compressed air.

Uploaded by: AmericansWakeUp
Video Description:
Europe and the rest of the world are developing new technologies that will give them the economic edge in technology and products, as America unthinkingly erodes into a third world nation as our politicians who are beholden to fossil fuel companies, legislate for them to make billions of dollars. A car that runs on compressed air (that should be an American idea and benefit America's economy), is a French invention that orchestrates old technologies into a new chassis. Behold this newsworthy clip (that is not ready for U.S. corporate controlled prime time news or even political debate) edited from HD Theater, "The Future Car: Fuel". Just another example of how corporations who control our legislative and executive branches of government are misallocating our resources, treasury and wealth, to insure their short term wealth and global domination, as we deteriorate economically and do nothing to preserve our economic leadership. What is America doing with its "talents" (see Matthew 25:14-25:39)?

um yeah, perpetual motion? The car is cool, but the voice-over at the end is a wee bit misinformed.

The car design has ... ( 3 weeks ago by ijerry1)
The car design has been licensed to Tata Motors in India - one of the world's biggest car manufacturers. While the perpetual motion idea is rubbish, using the brakes to partially recharge the air tanks would likely extend the range, just as regenerative braking works on electric cars. Even if the compressors use fossil fuels they will use much less fuel per km than driving the whole car on it. At a cost of $3 per hundred kms that sounds pretty good value.

Quote "Even if the compressors use fossil fuels they will use much less fuel per km than driving the whole car on it." Nope incorrect very fuel INEFFICIENT "At a cost of $3 per hundred kms that sounds pretty good value." It actually sounds unbelievable because it is.

Perpetual motion... ... ( 2 weeks ago by abshhkc)
Perpetual motion.... nice one. The inventor never made such claim, but it's the editor/narrator who suggested it. I can't believe Discovery allowed this to air. It's bad science. Pertpetual motion is not possible.

If you guys can't figure out wayback machine, then go to tinyurl and enter "mditestresults". That tinyurl will pop up the archived MDI test results.
RAN OUT OF AIR AFTER 7.22KM! Less than 5 miles! I wonder why no auto magazine has ever gotten to test the car, even though they were going to first go into production in 2002?

I checked to see if I had to rate this 5 stars and it turns out that I didn't and rated it 1 star instead... BTW, don't all cars currently run on air? Gasoline in the engine is ignited and causes rapid expansion of gas (aka air) causing the pistons to move...

The air we breath ... ( 1 week ago by kelltiozim)
The air we breath is free, compressed air is not! No air powered car is any better than a gasoline or diesel powered car. The compressed air has to come from somewhere- electricty, and more and more electricity is being generated from coal and other dirty ways. Solar, Wind, Hydro, these are the only good ways to produce electricity. Then you have my support.
Most likely, the ... ( 1 week ago by Charlieutube99)
Most likely, the reason it is not on the market after 8 years of "going into production next year" is that the operating range is much less than what MDI claims.
Also, MDI doesn't intend to make cars. Their business model is to take in money from investors, and by selling franchises. They just need to keep stringing people along and getting good press. They don't need to actually produce cars if they keep getting investors.

The narrator suggested that this technology can be perpetual. The producer is an idiot, and Discovery should have edited it out, because many people now think perpetual motion is a reality.

Hey dude,if you watch the whole thing, you'll hear that the narrator at the end speaks of the possibility of a perpetual motion engine. The engineer never did make this claim, except that the engine can be charged by another copressed gas engine. The editor of the program just put two-and-two together and got infinity.
Perpetual motion is ... ( 5 days ago by abshhkc)
Perpetual motion is not possible. Period. A solar car can run forever (as long as the sun stays lit), but a solar car isn't perpetual.
Perpeutal motion isn't possible because,
If a car generates 100kw of power, it'll need >100kw of power to recharge. Even if the engine is 100% efficient, there'll be nothing left to actually drive the car.
A 100% efficient engine isn't possible because some energy will always be lost to heat, even if it's the disc brakes or tyres heating up.
Just let you know ... ( 5 days ago by thomas2c)
Just let you know that in France (where this can is designed) electricity is 80% nuclear, 10% hydro, 5% wind and only 5% coal or petrol, and only to deliver power at peak periods. This explains why this guys pretend that there is no CO2 emited.

Financial assumtion are based on France way to make power : nuclear electricity for 80% of the production. And price is very low as it is state owned (50%).
