There are other landmark films and landmark bands. The difference was C-K wasn't a very popular picture for it's time. It still is really only revered among film buff's.
Saying best film ... ( 1 month ago by Bureyeanne)
Saying best film ever is like saying best burger ever or best hot dog and cheese-frys. My mom is convinced best picture ever is, "The sound of Music", my son thinks it's "Robert the General Contractor".
yeah i can ... ( 1 month ago by melkor256)
yeah i can understand that it introduced all these aspects to cinema, but as a film in-terms of storyline and characters it is completely boring and does not deserve Best film ever. In-fact i dont think any film does
And don't forget ... ( 1 month ago by wwerulestna)
And don't forget Raging Bull, and though all those movies were great and there has been amazing films in the past 40 years, the best films will always be from the 20's - 60's I think.
Anyone who says ... ( 1 month ago by wwerulestna)
Anyone who says anything bad about this obviously knows very little about film. The whole thing was brilliant, come on people, I still don't think it's the greatest, but defenatly in a top 5 list.

its boring, a lot of people like this film and a lot dont like this film, to say that people who dont like this film no nothing about film is just stupid.

Very, very true. I suppose I couldn't think of a better metaphor. It was a visionary piece of work. I often think that the cinematography alone was Kane's greatest strength.

They should put colors in this film. I cant watch it without colors.

metallic: After ... ( 4 weeks ago by NGS712)
metallic: After seeing alot of different films and as much as I love Kane I think it's pointless to say Kane is the 'great-EST'. All we can really do is acknowledge how many great films there are and Kane is definitely one of them.
I think part of the problem is that people mix what they like with how they judge quality. There are films I've seen that are well made but I didn't like or consider favorites but I acknowledge their quality. I wish others could so the same.
Thank you Melkor. ... ( 4 weeks ago by Isaiasm2006)
Thank you Melkor.
I am a film major and when I saw this film, i was like... man wtf! My professor said that many people say it's the greatest film ever. I thought otherwise. People just say it's brilliant and say they like it because others say it.
finally someone who ... ( 4 weeks ago by melkor256)
finally someone who agrees with me lol same, i can understand that it brought cinema a sense of structure for future films. But i would never consider it to be the best film ever made, no films really can have that title because everyone has different tastes. i personally couldn't stand this film, but other people would.

Lmao! At the truth!... xD
I prefer seeing neorealist films, like A bycicle thief than this. Or the films influenced by film noir with marlon brando. "On the Waterfront" That was better than Citizen's kANE, in [my] opinion. But everyone has their own taste in movies. This movie did not give me any motivation to learn more
about Orsen Welles. I'm just gonna keep the knowledge i have. He was in the movie Citizen Kane, that's it . lol
Yeah, exactly, like ... ( 4 weeks ago by metallicakixtotalass)
Yeah, exactly, like even movies like "There Will Be Blood", which I didn't particularly like and made me pretty uncomfortable, I recognize that Daniel Day-Lewis put on one HELL of a performance and that it is a brilliant film
metallic: To be ... ( 4 weeks ago by NGS712)
metallic: To be honest, . . . I liked that film. ;)
Yes, it's not an easy film to stomach. However, I think one could get over that with a second or third viewing. It's a gritty film because it's a gritty story. But still, it's not for every taste.
"I thought ... ( 3 weeks ago by Hadewijch)
"I thought otherwise. People just say it's brilliant and say they like it because others say it." Maybe people who didn't see it (but pretend they did). Those who HAVE seen it, especially in its proper historical perspective, mostly say they love it because they love it. I do. I could watch it again and again. There is nothing wrong with disliking a work, any work. What is wrong is suspecting the sincerity of those who have a different opinion about it.

Fantastic. ;) This must be one of the wittiest and most entertaining trailers I've seen. And note that I am comparing it to its actual peers: the trailers of the 1930s and 1940s, which were often "quirky" and based on verbal wit, not to the trailers of more recent times. Thanks!
